Bertha "Bert" Louise Lemke, 70, of Comstock died April 14 at Cumberland Hospital. Memorial services were Wednesday afternoon at Skinner Funeral Home in Cumberland with the Rev. Steve Miller officiating and burial at Lakeside Cemetery there

Mrs. Lemke was born Oct. 3, 1936 in Racine to Frank and Solome (Awye) Walker. She graduated from Lutheran High School in Racine and worked at Twin Disk Clutch Co. She married Douglas Lemke in Racine on Sept. 25, 1957 and lived in France while Mr. Lemke was enlisted in the Air Force. They lived in Grand Forks, N.D., before moving to the Comstock area in 1962, where Mrs. Lemke became a tax accountant and operated Lemke Tax Service.

She is survived by her husband, Douglas; and a brother, F. James of Kenosha. [Published 18 Apr 2007 in The Chronotype, Rice Lake, WI.]
