  gestorben im Ossian Senior Hospice LuNida M. Sebastian, 92, Postville, Iowa, died Friday, September 25, 2009, at Ossian Senior Hospice, Ossian, Iowa, following a brief illness. LuNida was born on October 5, 1916, rural Luana, Iowa, to Eddie and Irene (Brandtman) Doerring. She was baptized on November 5, 1916, and confirmed in April 1931 at the Luana Lutheran Church. She attended Eno Country School through the eighth grade. LuNida was united in marriage to Victor Sebastian on May 26, 1937, at her parent's home in Clayton County. Three sons were born to this union, Burdette, Merlin and Milo. LuNida and Victor worked side by side on their farm. They farmed for fifty years on the same farm in Post Township, northeast of Postville in Allamakee County. They retired to Postville in 1988. In November 2005, she moved to Grand Meadow Glen in Postville and for the last year resided at Garden View in Monona. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers inside and out. LuNida was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville, Iowa. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Irene Doerring; her husband, Victor and two brothers, Charles and Eugene Doerring. Survivors include three sons, Burdette (Elsie) Sebastian, Postville, Merlin (Lynne) Sebastian, Geneseo, IL and Milo (Linda) Sebastian, Postville; ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Robert (Doris) Doerring, Lancaster, WI; sister-in-law, Shirley Monroe, Postville and nieces, nephews and cousins Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2009, at 11:00 am at the Community Presbyterian Church, Postville, Iowa. The Rev. Gary Catterson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Postville Cemetery, Postville, Iowa.
