Harold Leslie Wiedow, 96, of North English, formerly of Guernsey, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at English Valley Care Center, North English, following a short illness. Celebration of Life memorial services: 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Victor, by the Rev. David Kain. Private interment: Guernsey Cemetery. Arrangements are with Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North English.
Survivors include a son, Paul of Cabot, Ark.; and a sister, Violet Wise.

Harold Leslie Wiedow, age 96 of North English and formerly Guernsey died following a short illness on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at the English Valley Care Center in North English. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 4, 2008 at St. John's Lutheran Church (2656 CC Ave. Victor, IA 52347) with the Rev. David MacKain officiating. Private interment will be in the Guernsey Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church in Harold's name. Harold Leslie Wiedow was born on June 17, 1911, in Iowa County, near Victor, IA, the son of Charles Henry and Velda Lenore Forney Wiedow. He graduated from Guernsey High School. Harold was a former Poweshiek County Deputy Sheriff and for many years was the Poweshiek County Recorder. Harold was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He is survived by a son Paul of Cabot, AR; a sister Violet Wise; 3 granddaughters; 6 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, wife Elsie, a brother Clark and sisters Helen, Betty, Alice and Adena.
