    • Perry E. "Pat" Goth, age 89 and resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2012, in the Jane Phillips Medical Center, Bartlesville.

Pat Goth was born on March 17, 1923 in Highmore, South Dakota. He was the son of Perry Eugene Goth and Alma Leone (Wooley) Goth. He attended the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology where he graduated in 1944 with a Chemical Engineering Degree. Immediately following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served on the U.S.S. Boxer during WWII.

In 1945, Pat and the former Miss Helen McKelvey were united in marriage in Evanston, Illinois. Three children were born to that union. Helen preceded Pat in death in August of 2000.

In 1946, Pat began his career with the Phillips Petroleum Company in Borger, Texas. He served in various positions within the Company, retiring after 39 years in 1985. From 1982-1983, he served as president of NLPGA. (National Liquefied Petroleum Gas

He was a Shriner and enjoyed all the Shriner activities. He was also active in the Boy Scouts and served as one of their leaders throughout the 1960s. In 1995, Pat was elected president of the Alumni Association, South Dakota School of Mines & Technology. He received the Guy Marsh Award in 2001 from the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology for outstanding service to the university. His many affiliations also included membership in the Elks Lodge, American Legion and the Masons. It was very important to Pat that he maintain his roots to South Dakota, as well as to family and school.
