He was born March 1, 1918, near Benedict to Walter and Lena (Tappe) Junge. He attended Benedict school. He married Maxine Carlson of Bradshaw in March 1939. They began farming in that area, later moving near York. His wife Maxine, died in January 1967. In December 1967, he married Lucile Hemming. He was active in farming and cattle raising until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of York, the Masonic Lodge and the Elks Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Lucile; stepson Jim Hemming and wife Ruth; stepdaughter, Pat (Howard) Hoover; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Sarah Hemming; and one brother, Willard Junge. | JUNGE, Victor Eduard Karl (I33748)

7471 | Telegraph Herald (Dubuque, IA) - Sunday, September 25, 2011 Calvin F. Dechow CASSVILLE, Wis. - Calvin F. Dechow, 81, of Cassville, died Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at home. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, in the Cassville Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, and after 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Martin Funeral Home, Cassville. He was born on Jan. 31, 1930, in Prairie du Chien, son of William and Mary (Harwood) Dechow. Calvin graduated from Cassville High School in 1948, and entered into the Army. Following his honorable discharge, Calvin returned home and purchased the family farm. He was employed with Dairyland Power for 39 years before retiring. He married Lois I. Hampton on Jan. 7, 1951, in Colorado Springs, Colo. Calvin enjoyed gardening and woodworking. Surviving are his wife, Lois Dechow, of Cassville; children, Linda (Dennis) Johll, Deb (Bob) Hochhausen and Jim Dechow, all of Cassville; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, at the Lancaster United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mary Ann Floerke officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, at Schwartz Funeral Home, Lancaster. Friends also may call after 9:30 a.m. Thursday, at the church. She was born on March 27, 1938, in Prairie du Chien, daughter of William and Mary (Harwood) Dechow. She attended Elwell Grade School in Waterloo Township and graduated from Cassville High School in 1955. She married Lawrence A. Klein on Sept. 8, 1962, at her parent's home in Waterloo Township. Joan worked in the dietary department at Orchard Manor Nursing Home for more than 30 years. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Beetown and Cassville. Joan enjoyed cooking, baking, camping, fishing, reading, swimming and going out for Chinese food and garage sales. Surviving are her husband, Lawrence A. Klein, of Cassville; children, Vicki (Robert) Gengler and Michelle (Don) Bennett, both of Lancaster, Dave (Rochelle) Klein, of Athens, Shawn (Jen) Klein, of Denver, Annette Klein, of Cassville, and Dan (Michelle) Klein, of Bloomington; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Calvin (Lois) Dechow, of Cassville; her mother-in-law, Esther Klein, of Cassville; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant twin sister; a great-grandson, Andrew Bahl; and a brother, Robert Dechow. In lieu of flowers, a Joan L. Klein Memorial Fund has been established. 7494 | Thursday, 18 Aug. 1932, Postville Herald, p1, c5: Joachim Harnack, 97, Passed Away Sunday _______ Joachim Harnack, perhaps the oldest resident of Allamakee county, died Sunday afternoon, August 14th, at the home of his son, Fred, near Waukon, aged a little more than ninety-seven years. He was born in Mecklenberg-Schwerin, Germany, in 1835. In 1868 he emigrated to the United States, settling first near Clayton Center. Two years later, in 1870, he was united in marriage with Miss Caroline Schmidt. Their union was blessed with thirteen children, two of whom preceded him in death. The family lived on a farm near Clayton Center for a number of years and in 1898 he moved onto the Christ Harnack farm, south of Postville, where they lived until 1911, when they moved to town. His wife passed away 21 years ago. He is survived by five daughters and six sons, Mrs. Henry Mohs, Mrs. William Eberling, Mrs. Henry Block and Mrs. John Sebastian, all of Postville; Mrs. Lora Schmidt of Minnesota; Fred, Christ, Louis, Joe and Lester Harnack, all of Postville; and John Harnack of Sioux Falls, S. D. There are also 33 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Mr. Harnack was an honest and upright man, a good neighbor, friend and citizen, and all who came within the circle of his acquaintance will grieve to learn of his passing. The funeral services were held from St. Paul’s Lutheran church in this city at two o’clock on Wednesday afternoon, Dr. R. B. Garten officiating.
