6028 | Orville Joseph Harnack, son of Louis and Mary (Schroeder) Harnack, was born October 1, 1916 near Postville, Iowa. He died Thursday, June 29, 1995 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa. He was 78 years old. He was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church in 1916 by Pastor E. Schmidt and confirmed there in 1929 by Pastor E. T. Finck. Orville received his education at the Empire School and the Postville High School. On February 7, 1953, he was married to Helen R. Nuthman at Chicago, Ill. The couple moved to Postville in 1954. Helen died in 1957. On April 8, 1981 Orville was married to Helen M. Adam, near Postville, Iowa. Helen died in 1990. Orville had been employed by the Ringling Brothers, Barnum and Bailey Circus, the Pollick and Schrien Circus, Burlington Truck Lines in Chicago, Meyer's Plumbing and Heating in Postville and the City of Postville. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, and a brother, Harlan Harnack, who died in 1990. Surviving are two brothers, Merlin Harnack and his wife, LaVila of Postville, Milo Harnack and his wife, Barbara, of Marathon, Iowa; a sister-in-law Frances Harnack of Postville; a stepdaughter, Jean Ann Davison and her husband, Rick of Cedar Rapids; two stepsons, Neil Adam and his wife, Norma, of Downers Grove, Ill. and Walter Adam of Oklahoma City, Okla., and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 1, 1995 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. The Rev. Charles W. Miller officiated with Joan Martins serving as organist. Casket bearers were Clifford and Donna Harnack, Marlin and Delores Harnack, Judy Harnack and Marjorie Harnack. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. 6038 | Perry E. "Pat" Goth, age 89 and resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2012, in the Jane Phillips Medical Center, Bartlesville. Pat Goth was born on March 17, 1923 in Highmore, South Dakota. He was the son of Perry Eugene Goth and Alma Leone (Wooley) Goth. He attended the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology where he graduated in 1944 with a Chemical Engineering Degree. Immediately following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served on the U.S.S. Boxer during WWII. In 1945, Pat and the former Miss Helen McKelvey were united in marriage in Evanston, Illinois. Three children were born to that union. Helen preceded Pat in death in August of 2000. In 1946, Pat began his career with the Phillips Petroleum Company in Borger, Texas. He served in various positions within the Company, retiring after 39 years in 1985. From 1982-1983, he served as president of NLPGA. (National Liquefied Petroleum Gas Association). Recently he provided information for the 100th Anniversary of the propane industry which occurred in 2012. Pat was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Bartlesville. He was heavily involved in the church where he taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. He was a Shriner and enjoyed all the Shriner activities. He was also active in the Boy Scouts and served as one of their leaders throughout the 1960s. In 1995, Pat was elected president of the Alumni Association, South Dakota School of Mines & Technology. He received the Guy Marsh Award in 2001 from the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology for outstanding service to the university. His many affiliations also included membership in the Elks Lodge, American Legion and the Masons. It was very important to Pat that he maintain his roots to South Dakota, as well as to family and school. In 2001, Pat married Lila "Jo" Ross and they have resided in Bartlesville since that time. Survivors include his wife, Jo Ross-Goth of Bartlesville; son, Tom Goth and his wife, Kate O'Donnell, of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter, Joan Goth, of Norman, Oklahoma; step-daughter, Cyndi Ross and her husband, Mike Witkin, of Port Angeles, Washington; step-son, Steven Ross and his wife, Julie, of New York City, New York; daughter-in-law, Vivian Goth, of Ventura, California; brother, John Goth and his wife, Ree, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; four grandchildren, Meghan Wesley, Brendan Goth, Mike Goth and Rene Brown; three great-grandchildren, Ronan Wesley, Michael Edward Goth and Dylan Brown; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen in 2000; son, Mike in 2006; step-son, Mark Ross in 2011; and son-in-law, Terry Newkumet in 2010. Visitation for Mr. Goth will be held on Wednesday, from 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m., and Thursday, from 9:00 a.m.-noon in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey Ave. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Bartlesville. Memorial services for Mr. Goth will be held on Friday, July 27, at 2:00 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church, Bartlesville. Rev. Tari Carbaugh will be the officiant.
