5998 | Obit: From the Thurs., 2 May 1946 issue of “The Monona Leader,” page 1, column 5: Mrs. Lembke Services Held Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Lembke, 84, were held last Saturday afternoon from the residence at 1:45 o’clock to St. Paul’s Lutheran church at 2 o’clock with Rev. R. C. Schlueter officiating. Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery. Since 1926 Mrs. Lembke’s eyesight had been poorly, being almost blind in recent years. During this time Miss Winnifred Clark patiently cared for her. She suffered a stroke, April 20, and was taken to the New Sanitarium at Prairie du Chien for treatment. She died from the effects of the stroke Wednesday evening, April 24, at 10:30 o’clock. As Elise, she was born the second youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Springborn in Clayton county at Elkader, Feb. 12, 1862. She was educated in the public schools of Clayton county and lived all her life in Clayton and Allamakee counties. She was married to Fred Lembke, Feb. 28, 1884, at the home of his deceased brother, Henry Lembke, Sr., then living on a farm 3 miles south of Monona. In March, 1884, Mr. and Mrs. Lembke settled on a farm 3 miles north of Monona in Franklin township, Allamakee county, where they lived 33 years, retiring to Monona in February, 1917. The Lembkes were privileged to celebrate 59 wedding anniversaries together with their children and grandchildren. Mr. Lembke died March 22, 1943. Mrs. Lembke was a member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran church for 62 years. It was a at her wedding that plans were made to establish a Lutheran church in Monona. For many years she was a member of the Ladies Aid. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Karl (Elizabeth) Erb of Monona and Mrs. S. L. (Laura) Koehler of Ramona, S. D.; three sons, John of Luana, Emil of Monona, and Arthur of Burlington, two stepsisters, Mrs. Henry Kutzbach Sr. of Farmersburg and Mrs. John Hoth of Elkader, six grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Ella, died in infancy. Music at the services was provided by a quartet composed of Mrs. Erwin Hamann, Mrs. Myron Dettmann, Rev. R. C. Schlueter, and Donald Sabbann. Mrs. Schlueter was the organist. Pallbearers were Gustav Strelow, Charles Doerring, Ed Allert, John Krambeer, Bert Bruehahn, Gus Colby, Gust Klingeman, and George Aulerich. Those from a distance who attended the funeral services were: Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Lembke of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Lembke and Andrew Lembke of Owatonna, Minn., Mrs. Henry Hoth of Waubay, S. 5999 | Obituary courtesy of Metz Mortuary in York, NE.: York resident Lucile M. Junge, 94 years of age, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Willow Brook Assisted Living in York, NE. Lucile had moved to Willow Brook two weeks ago. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, March 25, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in York with Pastor Art Phillips officiating. Private burial will be in the Plainfield Cemetery, Bradshaw, NE. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Sunday at Metz Mortuary with the family in attendance from 6-8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church in York or donor's choice in Lucile's name. Lucile Marie Junge was born June 23, 1918 near Bradshaw NE to Cleon and Marie (Lake) Lichtenberger. She grew up in the Bradshaw area and graduated from Bradshaw High School in 1936. She attended Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas before returning to the Lincoln and York areas. Lucile married William J. Hemming of Bradshaw in February 1940 and they farmed west of York until he passed away in September 1964. During this period, she attended York College and completed her Bachelor of Science degree in 1965 at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. Lucile taught school for twelve years in Fairmont, Waco and York. In December 1967, she married Victor E. Junge of York where they continued to farm until he passed away in May 1987. Lucile enjoyed playing bridge, reading, traveling with the York Fun Club and volunteering with the York Hospital-Hearthstone Auxiliary of which she was given a life membership. She was also involved with the Blood Mobile for over 25 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in York, the York Area Retired Teachers, the American Legion Auxiliary and the B.P.O.E. Does being a past president and an active member for over 63 years. Lucile is survived by her son, Jim and wife Nita, and her daughter, Patricia; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, an infant daughter, a brother, three sisters, and a son-in-law.
