Died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Waeckerle, 325 Fourth St. S.W., after suffering a stroke earlier in the day. He came to the United States when a small boy, settling near Elkander, Iowa. He moved to a farm near Willow Lake, SD in 1906 and came to Huron in 1920 where he had since made his home with his daughter. John was survived by four daughters and one son. Preceded in death by his wife, one son and one daughter. Services held Mar. 18, 1940 at Welter Chapel with the Methodist Church minister officiating.
